Thijs Hovers
Partner &
Portfolio Manager
Mr. Hovers is a Partner and Portfolio Manager for Lucerne Capital Management. Prior to joining Lucerne in 2007, Mr. Hovers was Head of Pan European Small and Mid-Cap Equity Research at ABN AMRO. He also held a position as Head of Benelux Equity Research, and prior to that was a Senior Equity Analyst while at ABN AMRO. Mr. Hovers’ career began as an equity analyst at Rabobank. He received a graduate degree in Economics from the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Patrick Moroney
Chief Operating & Compliance Officer
Mr. Moroney is the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer for Lucerne Capital Management. Prior to joining Lucerne in 2014, Mr. Moroney was Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer at Cura Capital and Sankofa Capital, and a Director for UBS. Mr. Moroney received his BBA and MBA from Iona College.
Jonathan Copplestone
Portfolio Manager

Mr. Copplestone is a Senior Research Analyst for Lucerne Capital Management. Prior to joining Lucerne in 2014, Mr. Copplestone was Founding Partner of Mermaid Asset Management, Senior Managing Director of ABN AMRO and President of Alfred Berg Inc. and Enskilda Securities Inc. Mr. Copplestone received his BA in Economics from the University of Kent, Canterbury.
Kim Strandenæs
Portfolio Manager
Mr. Strandenæs is a Portfolio Manager at Lucerne Capital Management, which he joined in 2025. Prior to Lucerne, he was the Head of Derivatives for Danske Bank in Norway from 2013 to 2019. From 2019 until joining Lucerne, Mr. Strandenæs led a prominent Norwegian family office with a focus on asset management and long-term capital allocation. He holds a degree in Finance from BI Norwegian Business School.
Frank Austin
Portfolio Manager
Mr. Austin is the Portfolio Manager for Bramble Run, Lucerne’s farmland platform. He was previously a Partner and Investment Director at Clear Frontier. Prior to 2019, he served as a Portfolio Manager at Arbor Nutrio. Mr. Austin began his career as an analyst at Rothschild & Co., working in the firm’s asset management and merchant banking division. He received a Bachelor of Science from Fordham University and holds certificates from the Private Equity Institute at the Saïd School of Business, Oxford.

Jørn McCall
Chief Marketing Officer
Mr. McCall is the Chief Marketing Officer at Lucerne Capital Management, which he joined in 2026. Prior to Lucerne, he worked across three different family offices, with experience spanning direct investments in real estate and real estate development. He holds a degree in Finance from Arizona State University and a BSc in Shipping and Finance from the University of Plymouth.
Eamonn Austin
Head Trader

Mr. Austin is the Head Trader at Lucerne Capital Management, which he joined in 2021. Prior to Lucerne, he was an FX Analyst at Barclays Investment Bank. While an undergraduate intern, Mr. Austin received published research credit for contributions to Rabobank’s macroeconomic team. He holds BS in Finance from Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business.
Floris Van Beurden
Analyst
Mr. Van Beurden is an Analyst at Lucerne Capital Management, which he joined in 2025. He holds his BS in Physics from Maastricht University and a MS in Astronomy and Business from Leiden University.
PJ Moroney
Finance and Operations

Mr. Moroney oversees Finance and Operations at Lucerne Capital Management, which he joined in 2023. He holds his BS in Finance from the University of Delaware's Alfred Lerner College of Business & Economics.
